SUSA provided 100% turnkey decommissioning of a 350k sq ft data center
Scope included the following:
- Removed four 1.5 MW generators
- Removed 50+ ea. CRAH units & PDU’s
- Removed +/-1200 backup batteries
- Removed misc. elec. gear, UPS, panelboards, elec. panels, breakers, bus duct, data cabling
- Removed three 25k gallon underground storage tanks w/ ~20k gallons of diesel, then backfill, compact and patch the parking lot area where they were previously located
- Removed +/- 310 workstations and miscellaneous ancillary and conferencing furniture up to 40 years old
- Results: SUSA International saved the owner $60k in the furniture removal scope and generated enough profit by monetizing the scrap and assets, guaranteeing the client a minimum cash payment on the full decommissioning scope, with the potential of additional financial upside.
- Resold newer PDU & CRAH units, as well as individual parts such as the transformers, circuit boards, CTs, screens, circuit breakers, and fan sets, etc. Sometimes the sum of the parts is greater than the whole.
